Welcome to Starlight: how this site works
Starlight brings together Western astrology, the Chinese zodiac and numerology, explained in plain English. This is the place to begin: what you can do here, how readings work and where to look next.
The full deep dive
What Starlight is
Starlight is a friendly guide to three of the world’s best-loved ways of looking at personality and timing: Western astrology, the Chinese zodiac and numerology. You do not need to know anything to begin. Every special word on the site can be tapped for a short explanation, and every idea has its own article here in the Library.
What you can do here
- Get a reading. Enter your date of birth and name, and Starlight works out your numbers and your Chinese zodiac animal, with every step of the working shown. Birth time and place unlock the astrology chart as it arrives.
- Explore the zodiac wheel. Tap any animal to see its friends, its secret friend and its clash, and how the five elements flow around the year.
- Compare two people. Compatibility readings combine astrology and numerology, and you can choose the relationship, from partner to parent, sibling or friend.
- Read the Library. Short, warm articles on every sign, animal, planet, number and element.
Three ways to read
Every reading comes in three depths, so you can choose how much you want:
- Quick Glance: the essence in a few lines.
- First Timers: a gentle introduction where everything is explained.
- Full Deep Dive: all the detail and all the working, for when you want the full picture.
A note on how to use it
Starlight is for reflection, curiosity and fun. Think of a reading as a conversation starter about who you are, not a set of instructions. Our article How to use astrology wisely says more.
